 Each lesson will be given on Wednesday afternoons at Pinner Bridge Club (2:00-4:00pm) and again on Thursday evenings at the Oasis Lounge, Northwood Methodist Church (7:30-9:30pm)  

Prices are: £10 per lesson or £65 for each course of 9 lessons.

A complete set of class notes is £15

The lessons are aimed at players who know basic Acol, but would like to learn some popular modern conventions.

Bridge for Beginners

No prior knowledge is required. The courses combine lessons in all aspects of bridge with "Minibridge", which allows beginners to start playing bridge from day one - before they have mastered all the bridge bidding sequences.

The only requirement is the ability to count.  Familiarity with a deck of cards would be an advantage.

Class Times:  Afternoons 12:30-2:30pm, Evenings 7.30-9:30pm

Beginning Bridge - 1 (13 lessons)

Shuffling and dealing
Introduction to bridge via minibridge
Introduction to declarer play, defence and bidding
No Trumps and suit opening bids
Responder's bid and openers rebid with a strong and weak hand
Getting into No Trump

Defence and the opening lead
Overcalls in a suit or No Trump

Continuing Bridge

Suitable for those who have completed the Beginning Bridge 1 and 2 classes, or those with some experience of basic bridge.

Rates: Each course of 13 lessons costs £110, which includes the Bridge for All ‘Continuing Bridge’ book and membership of the English Bridge Union.  Half price rates for returning students who are re-doing the same unit.
